PIGMENTED LESIONS: NEVUS, KERATOSIS, LENTIGOS, FRECKLES

The dermatologist must perform a diagnosis on the pigmented lesion. It is important to determine the malignancy or benignancy of the lesions. Once this is done, the patient will be advised on the most appropriate treatment for the removal of the lesion.

Laser and pulsed light are effective treatments for these lesions. Alex-Lazr, Derma-k and Photoderm systems are the best indicated for this sort of treatments.

One session is usually enough. The procedure is painless and recovery is fast.

The innovation in the area of treatments at IML is the incorporation of the Affinity Laser: Dual Laser that combines two types of Q-Switched laser: 1064 Nm and at 532 Nm. This feature allows treatment of both superficial and deep pigmented lesions in just one session. With this method, the patient obtains full results in one treatment session. The specific nature of this laser allows treatment of pigmented lesions without affecting the adjacent tissue.
