WHAT IS IT?
It is a minimally invasive technique for neck tensing and improved jaw line definition.
WHAT DOES IT CONSIST OF?
A 1 cm incision is made in front of the ear lobe where the cheek begins (precisely in the area where earrings are worn)
Two to three centimetres of skin are lifted off and the SMAS -the tissue between the skin and deep tissue- can be tensed providing the deep structures with a long-lasting compression effect.
The SMAS is divided into two parts and is anchored at two points, an upper and lower, the occipital fascia which is very resistant.
Excess skin is carefully removed.
The front of the earlobe is sutured with invisible intradermic monocryl and the back with a very fine ethilon thread.
WHO IS IT FOR? It is recommended for patients with neck and lower face flaccidity, with only minor defects and moderate fat excess in the neck region. It also allows for treatment of patients with sunken deep tissue as well as flaccidity. It is an ideal treatment for over 40 year olds.
BENEFITS:
• Procedure is performed under local anaesthetic. The treatment lasts 40 to 50 minutes (hence its name). It is an ambulatory procedure, allowing the patient to leave the clinic shortly afterwards.
• Minimal and invisible scars. In 95% of the cases, no bruising is experienced.
• Results are natural, very apparent and long lasting.
• Recovery is extremely fast and normal social life can be resumed almost immediately. During the first few days, there is some inflammation in front of the earlobe which remits from the third day. Sutures are removed on the sixth day. The procedure will not be noticeable 3 to 4 days later in patients with long hair. If she wears a headband, it may go unnoticed from the very beginning.
LIMITATIONS:
• It cannot be performed on highly fatty necks or jowls unless a light liposuction of the area is also carried out.
• Tightness can be felt in front of the ear over the first three days.
